Out Of The Norm

This year I decided to do something grand for my boyfriend’s birthday…

It took me months of saving, 2 weeks of research & consultations but i’m glad I found the perfect place to carry out my plan 🙂

Naivasha Kongoni Lodge…A Home Away from Home!!

So we stayed in one of their executive cottages. This costed me about 30K for two nights. The cottage came with a king sized bed, a living room, kitchen and dining room, a private pool and a jacuzzi 🙂 Yes people…a Jacuzzi :):) pluuuus the same 30K covered a wonderfully prepared breakfast buffet 🙂

Honestly guys, this place is too amazing, i’m just gonna let the pictures speak for themselves 🙂

Anyway, being the social media junkie I am, I shared snapshots of our wonderful and fun moments at Kongoni Lodge on Facebook and Instagram.

You can imagine the different reactions I got from my followers and friends…

Most guys were genuine & liked the photos, some viewed them silently dying inside and a few made remarks about how i’ve set the bar too high…lol

Truth is I saw it coming:)

You see….we live in a society that is used to a certain way of doing things especially when in relationships.

I was lucky enough to have been raised differently 🙂

I believe that if you can spoil each other go ahead and do it! you don’t have to be rich to spoil your partner, it is not always the guy that needs to spoil his woman, men deserve to be spoilt too…

If you feel that your man deserves all the happiness in the world go ahead and give him that happiness…spoil that man the same way he spoils you…

Also, stop doing the same things or going to the same places, get out of your comfort zone and do things differently…

Take the time to do your research, you will find there are so many places out there that you can go to and have the time of your life without neccessarily breaking the bank 🙂

One last thing…Birthdays are the best times to create memories and spoil your partners…not only will you be celebrating the gift of life together you will be celebrating the love you have for each other..

John, I know you are reading this with a smile on your face;

Thank you! Thank you for everything, all the late nights and early mornings, all the encouraging words and endless support, thank you for taking care of me every single day…thank you for all the things you do even against your will just to make me happy 🙂 You truly have been a blessing to me. I promise to keep doing my best to reciprocate 🙂

God bless all my beloved readers, keep the fire burning people!!

My Two Cents On Power

Before I begin I’d like to define the word “Power”

According to google Power is the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events”

Great! now that we are on the same page, here’s what I think;

I think the thirst for power is real…

I see it every day and I honestly don’t like what I see…

Why do I say this?

I have seen really nice people turn ugly because of power.

I have seen very close friends hate each other because of power.

I have seen people I thought I knew so well change right infront of my eyes because of power.

I have even seen people permanently burn bridges because of power.

so yeah!! I don’t like what I see…

As a leader, I am faced with power hungry people every single day…

I have people in my team who question every single thing I say…who talk about me behind my back, who point out how bad of a leader I am…etc

Funny thing is…they actually believe that “I am the problem”

I know very well what the REAL problem is…They want my power 🙂

Look…I myself am not a fan of power…I mean I don’t mind it..but you won’t see me lose sleep over it..

Yet somehow in my daily struggle to defend the little power I have, I find myself doing things and saying things I don’t really want to.

I’ve become what I hate the most…a Power slave…

You see, power blinds people..it makes them fail to see how their lives have changed because of this continuous fight for power.

Power makes you a slave without you even realizing it..it makes you do things you wouldn’t normally do…

Don’t get me wrong, it is a good thing to have power..but only if you use this power to make a necessary change, to help change lives and solve people’s problems.

Power is good if it makes you a better person, a reliable person and a just person…

However, if it changes the way you treat people or the way you think of them, if it continues to accelerate issues instead of solving them…then its bad…

I guess what i’m trying to say here is;

Focus on what is right and what makes you a better person…if power makes you a better person..then be my guest…but if it changes you for the worst..let it go!

I, Tracy Joy am officially letting go…

I will not let Power change who I am or how I think and feel..

I will stop fighting the people who badly want my power because by doing so I am no different.  I will instead keep my power and use it the best way I can.
